The following loops depicts a possible, though optimistic, route. In reality the likelihood of completing this loop in roughly two months of cycling is very low. Success would require the elusive combination of good tracks, perfect weather and error-free navigation. The first leg of the trip will take me from Ulaan Baatar to the heart of the Gobi, the southern-most point of the loop. At that point I'll determine whether time allows for continuance on bicycle or whether I need to return north by alternative means of transportation. The second leg of the trip takes in a swath of the region west of Ulaan Baatar.
As the trip progress the map will display daily progress markers.
